‍

Event page refresh

‍

We gave our event page a complete makeover! Just to name a few exciting changes: a more robust and informative RSVP experience, seeing the event organizer and office, simplifying the guest list, and much more.

‍

‍

Simplified cover photos

‍

No more worrying about making photo look pretty in 3 different ways – all cover photos will now be a square! We've also smoothed out the cover photo experience, from making sure the original photo can still be cropped and aspect ratio is maintained on different devices. Learn more

‍

‍

Show RSVP on event cards

‍

Ever browsing the Discover page and not sure if you've already RSVPed to an event? Now, we'll show your current RSVP on the event card so you don't need to click in and out just to check.

‍

‍

Auto-decline notifications

‍

When we see that a guest RSVPs as not going for your event and there's an auto-decline note from Google and Outlook Calendar, we'll send custom notifications to alert the guest that they might've unintentionally declined.

‍

‍

Event organizer

‍

We simplified designating an event organizer – no more manually entering a contact person or reply-to email for reminders. Select any employee from your company as the default reply-to email for all communications.

‍

The event organizer's information will also be shown on the event page soon.

‍

‍

Office

‍

We made improvements to the office field. Office is now in the "Details" section to make it more clear that it’s not a location.

‍

Selecting an office helps employees search for events (you can now see it on event cards on the Discover page!) and groups data for reporting.

‍

Slack "Home" page

‍

We added a "Home" page to our Slackbot app. Employees can learn about Epoch right in the tools they're already in. They can also get quick access to important links, like the Help Center or contacting our support team.

‍

‍

Event information in CSV

‍

We added the event name and event start time as columns to the guest list CSV. This will make it easier for you to consolidate data across different events, without losing track of which event a guest belongs to. If you don't need them, simply delete!

‍

Busy or free

‍

You can now choose to make your events busy or free on both Google and Outlook Calendar! Making an event free is especially helpful for events that don't require guests to attend the entire time, like a drop-in lunch.

‍

Slack channels

‍

We've upgraded our Slack integration! We experienced issues where s o me Slack channels wouldn't appear when you're trying to select a channel for an event or announcement.

‍

Now, you can search for any channel in your company. If you're searching for a private channel and it doesn't show up, make sure to add our Epoch Slackbot to the channel first.

‍

‍

Inline images (Outlook only)

‍

You can now add images to your event descriptions.

‍

Images will be synced across the Epoch event page and Outlook Calendar event.

‍

When you remove members from a distrolist, they'll be automatically removed from all upcoming events that the distrolist is part of.

‍

‍

Target attendance

‍

When you're creating events, you can now input the number of guests you're hoping will attend your event in order to consider it a success.

‍

This number will be used to calculate attendance rate, which is the number of people who actually attended compared to your target.

‍

‍

Categories

‍

There used to be "Tags" and "Types", and now they're finally called the same thing: "Categories."

‍

Use categories to improve event content discovery and reporting insights with more segmentation.

‍

Easy to understand and quick to use, it’s a great way to collect feedback on ratings, sentiment, and more.

‍

‍

Anonymity settings

‍

You can now choose to make your feedback forms anonymous or not anonymous! Employees will be informed on whether their name is being shared or not with the event or content organizer.

Get the insights you need to know which channels you should target to boost confirmations for future events.

‍

‍

Targeted reminders

‍

Target who you want to send the reminders to. Choose guests based on their RSVP status, which means you can nudge invited guests to RSVP.

‍

In-person check-in

‍

You can now track who showed up for your in-person and hybrid events!

‍

We’ve launched 2 ways to track attendance: admins can check off employees’ names on the event's insights page, or employees can self check in through Slack and email.

‍

In combination with our Zoom integration, you can now get a full picture of attendance across all your events. Learn more about how it all works in our in-person check-in article.

‍

‍

Email reminders

‍

We refreshed our email reminders, just like Slack! You can now see which reminders have been scheduled and sent, the time zone formatting is consistent, and we added input field labels to make the experience more clear.

‍

‍

CSV updates

‍

We're always committed to providing you more data. We updated our guest list CSV to show you whether guests were invited by an admin or if they discovered the event on their own. We also now permanently show a guest's most recent RSVP status instead of replacing it with an attended status. You can see if a guest attended an event by checking the attendance type and source.

‍

Registration cutoff

‍

Registration cutoff prevents employees from confirming into your event after a set date and time. This is a great feature to use if your event requires pre-work, ordering supplies, or booking logistics. You can finalize headcount and plan appropriately for your events.

‍

To learn more about how to set up registration cutoff, read our registration cutoff article.

‍

‍

Slack reminders

‍

We refreshed our Slack reminders! You can now see which reminders have been scheduled and sent, the time zone formatting is consistent, you can organize your reminders internally with a title, and we updated our Slack formatting tips to give you a cleaner experience.

‍

‍

Event cards

‍

We also cleaned up our event cards! You can now see the total number of guests confirmed for the event, event location is displayed consistently, and the design is more accessible.

‍

‍

June 27, 2023

‍

Archive modal

‍

When archiving events, we added a warning to make sure events aren't being cancelled by accident. This also lets you know exactly what happens when you archive an event.

‍

‍

Event duplication

‍

Duplicating an event didn't copy over all the fields, and that's an oversight on our part! We heard your feedback and made sure that you get a carbon copy. Start and end time, contact person name, contact person email, turning on guests for public events, admin check-in settings, self check-in settings, and Slack channel settings duplicate correctly.

‍

Customize the name for "Content"

‍

You can now change the name for "Content" across the platform! Some common requests we've heard include "Recordings" and "Podcasts." This will appear in the dashboard sidebar, dashboard title, and Discover page tab.

‍

To learn more about how to set it all up, read here.

‍

‍

Large events on calendar

‍

We've found that calendar events with more than 2,000 guests often experience issues with syncing data between calendar and Epoch that's out of our control. To be proactive about these issues, we disable the ability to create calendar events and send calendar invitations to invited guests.

‍

To learn more about this limitation, read here.

‍

Date filter

‍

Employees can now filter events based on a date or date range. We're making event discoverability across the company even easier than before!

‍

‍

Slack notification for event cancellations

‍

Now, guests will be notified through Slack if you archive an event. This can help clear up any confusions about whether guests should attend an event, especially if they don't check their email.

‍

‍

Profile photos

‍

We've updated our default profile photos for employees who don't upload one. They're visually cleaner and show employees' initials, which can make skimming a bit easier if you're trying to see if your friends will be there.

‍

Control event update notifications

‍

We know it’s top of mind to not spam employees with notifications, especially when you want to edit an event silently.

‍

Now, you can choose if you want to send update notifications from Google Calendar and Slack. We pushed a quality-of-life update for employees too: their questionnaire responses will be restored automatically when they confirm back into an event that had a start time change.

‍

Learn more about how it all works in our update notifications article.

‍

Merged confirmation and questionnaire requests

‍

We know it's top of mind to not spam employees with too many comms. Now, when a user confirms to an event through calendar and the event has a questionnaire, they'll receive one consolidated email and Slack message to fill out the questionnaire.

‍

Edit surveys in Slack

‍

Guests can now edit their questionnaire and feedback form responses directly in Slack! Once a survey is submitted, guests will see an Edit questionnaire button on the next Slack message. Guests can also see and reference their previous responses.

‍

‍

Restore questionnaires when start time is changed

‍

If you changed the start time of your event, guests had to fill out the questionnaire all over again if they confirmed back into the event. Now, their questionnaires will be automatically restored! Guests can still edit their responses on Slack and the Epoch event page.

‍

Communications dashboard

‍

Promotions is now communications. This dashboard is your home for all things communications as we build out more features for you, like announcements that aren’t tied to an event.

‍

‍

Deprecated calendar promotions

‍

We’re removing calendar promotions to simplify the experience, because inviting guests to your events do the same thing! Don’t worry – any previously scheduled calendar promotions will still send, but you won’t be able to edit or delete them.

‍

To add employees to a calendar invitation, simply invite them to the event and turn on calendar invitations.

‍

‍

Status column

‍

You can now see the publishing status of your events on the dashboard! Published events means all changes are live. Saved events are also live, but there are some saved changes that haven't been published and made live yet.
